David Sutton, founder and President of One Call Away lives in Southwick, Massachusetts with his wife, Michelle and two sons, Jacob and Joshua. He has two grown daughters, Amanda and
David’s company, David Sutton Heating, installs and services heating and cooling systems. David is an active member of the Southwick Planning Board. His interests include hunting, fishing, SCUBA diving and motorcycle riding.
David served in the 101st Airmobile Infantry Division at Fort Campbell, Kentucky from 1980 to 1982. In 1991 when Desert Shield/Desert Storm began he wanted to reenlist, but his family obligations prevented his doing so.
In recent years David’s participation with the Patriot Guard Riders at military funerals made him aware of the high rate of veteran suicides and he felt that he had to do something to help local veterans from Western Massachusetts. In 2016 David felt that he heard the word “GO” from God, and he could not refuse that command. So, after talking with his wife and Pastor Dan Valeri from Southwick, he contacted several of his trusted Patriot Guard Rider friends and began forming the One Call Away Foundation with the specific mission of helping local veterans push through their post traumatic stress and find a peaceful, meaningful life.
